The UK Association was started in 2003, initially to support the Milton Margai School for the Blind in Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown. Over time the concerns have broadened beyond the primary school to include support for former pupils in secondary and university education, and in vocational training.
In 2010 the name of the Association was changed to reflect a wish to support other schools for the blind in Sierra Leone.
What all the schools have in common is desire to strive hard to achieve the highest academic standards. They do so with the most basic of facilities and learning materials.
With your help we can make their lives a little easier, helping them to become full and equal citizens of Sierra Leone.
